Forth! for junior orchestra

Created for a young orchestra of performers with beginner skills, this is an exciting but straightforward piece. In D minor, each instrument has simple notes with repetitive rhythms in sympathetic ranges that allow performers to feel part of something complex. String parts are a combination of pizzicato and arco sections using open strings and first fingers. Each section of the orchestra is featured.

This piece was developed for a Year 7 (11-12 years old) orchestra of pupils learning instruments for the first time over the course of a school year. The video shows an example of one of the end of year concert performances.
